Cameraman L.B. Abbott began his long career in 1926 as a cameraman's assistant. He became a cameraman in 1943 and worked steadily until the early 1970s. Abbot has filmed many distinguished films, including The Longest Day, Fantastic Voyage, and The Sound of Music.
