Barbara Tfank Biography

Clothing designer Barbara Tfank occasionally dabbles in costume design for feature films and television commercials. Her film credits include Robin Swicord's short The Red Coat and the full-length features A Midnight Clear (1992), Dream Lover (1994), and Beautician and the Beast (1997). Tfank learned her art while obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree from Skidmore College and while earning her Masters from Stanford. She then apprenticed with designer Cesarani. Tfank's high fashion creations have been worn by many celebrities, including actress Uma Thurman, who wore a Tfank design to an Academy Awards ceremony. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
