Disney mines familiar territory with The Mighty Ducks. A motley collection of stereotypical misfits and outsiders (the tough girl, the fat kid, the brooding bully with the big talent) gel together with the help of a coach who does not want the job, but warms to it after growing feelings for the kids. That the film works as well as it does is a direct result of the charm of the actors.
