A tour de force for the multi-talented director Sally Potter, the autobiographical drama The Tango Lesson relies on its concepts to make up for a dull story. The tango as a metaphor for a relationship allows for various meditations and Potter gives the audience plenty of time to ponder the nature of power struggles in artistic and romantic collaboration.
