Director Allan Moyle (Pump Up the Volume) certainly gets the discontented mood right for Tricia Fish's autobiographical script in the coming-of-age drama New Waterford Girl. The coastal Nova Scotia town is beautifully captured in a stark blue house against barren fields, cloudy skies, and a rocky shore.
