Director Mark L. Lester brings his proven sense of economy (remember Commando?) to this non-pretentious and entirely effective thriller. It's The Fugitive Meets Kiss the Girls, with several very effective twists along the way. Lester's direction is sinewy -- and often B-movie grotesque -- and the mystery of the killer is cleverly concealed until the final showdown.
