After the more straightforward storytelling of I'm Going Home, Portuguese master Manoel de Oliveira returns to a more cold and studied style of filmmaking for The Uncertainty Principle. Fans will find the work familiar, not just for its detached, wordy style, but for its cast, many of whom are de Oliveira regulars.
