Although plenty of fans found the belated fourth series of Absolutely Fabulous a bit anemic in places, it contained far stronger material than this amusing but flimsy theater-world send-up. Perhaps it's unfair to judge the concept on the basis of this pilot, but it's all that was ever created, and it has, after all, been released into the world.
