    Is the musical dead? Is film noir dead? Well, Dark Streets shows that neither genre has gone the way of the dinosaur just yet. Blending those two classic genres, it displays reverence for them while sharpening both with a modern edge. The film feels like a dream, from its smoky atmospheres to hazy camera vantage points. Thus begins Dark Streets, and that line, spoken in a bluesy rasp by Prince (Toledo), the film's narrator, and the dark slow-motion imagery that accompanies it, sets the tone for Dark Streets, director Rachel Samuels' hyper-stylized musical-noir pastiche.
