This affectionately cheesy imitation of a 1950s science-fiction B-movie is cheerfully tongue-in-cheek, comfortably dumb, and unexpectedly retro-gorgeous. Imagine a primary-colorful mash-up of The Day the Earth Stood Still, Invaders From Mars, and probably a half-dozen other Eisenhower-era alien flicks, played with a big wink and a smile, and you'll have a good idea what to expect.
