The 2014 Harlem Fine Arts Show in NYC is less than five months away, and the roster of artists and galleries slated to display works is growing rapidly. As of September, the following have committed to participate in the fifth installment of the annual event, which highlights Black History Month and celebrates the artistic vitality of the African-American community.
The annual event is being hosted by famed Riverside Church, from January 29 through February 2.
Artists already confirmed are as follows:
Andrew Nichols
Corinthia Peoples
Dane Tilghman
E&S Gallery
Elizabeth Baez
Ernani Silva
Frank Frazier
George Nock
Laura James
Leroy Campbell
Nkosi Imported Crafts
Robert Carter
Sidney Carter
Verna Hart
Water Kolours Fine Art
Many additional artists are expected to be added to this list in the months leading up to the show. In fact, as many as 80 different artists and galleries -- many nationally- and even internationally-known -- are projected to participate in the event that features contemporary paintings, sculpture, and photography reflecting the African diaspora.
The event will run from January 29 to February 2, 2014, during the week preceding the New York metropolitan area playing host to the Super Bowl for the very first time.
"It's breathtaking to look ahead toward the array of talent we'll be enjoying in just a few months," says Dion Clarke, founder of the Harlem Fine Arts Show. "Each year, we seek opportunities to further broaden what's on display, and I'm confident attendees to this latest show will truly be captivated by works from both established and emerging artists from around the world."
The 2014 Harlem Fine Arts Show will take place in Harlem at the historic Riverside Church complex, and will be open to all, with a $20 entry fee on most days. The exception will be opening night, January 29, when the still-to-be-determined admission fee will benefit the Harlem School of the Arts.
During the course of the show, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in meet-and-greets with select artists.
