Canadian rocker Bryan Adams is BACK and in a new but old way.
Wait, what?
Chill, B. Adams fans, and we'll tell you.
The singer is set to release his first studio album in more than six years with Tracks of My Years, a diverse collection of time-honored classics from the '50s, '60s and '70s. It's out September 30.
The album includes 10 cover songs featuring a wide range of influential musical styles.
But wait. That's not all.
The collection also includes a brand new track, "She Knows Me," which was co-written with Adams' longtime writing partner Jim Vallance.
Why is that important? Well, the Adams/Vallance partnership was responsible for many of Adams' classic, radio-dominating hits, including "Heaven," "Summer of '69" and "Run to You."
Aw yeah. We cannot wait to hear "She Knows Me," since it is the product of a songwriting team that works wonders together. Bring it, Bryan.
"Making the selection of the songs for the album took a long time," noted Adams, explaining his inspiration. "We recorded all kinds of songs until the songs sort of presented themselves, or sounded different enough from the originals. We did about three months of recording, spread out over the course of two years. Radio was king when I was a teenager. You'd hear McCarney's 'Admiral Halsey' straight into 'Kiss and Say Goodbye' by the Manhattans. Radio didn't discriminate back then."
Radio is so different now. He is so right.
