On "Mistakes Like This", Prelow say all kinds of things that your average indie alternative group would never even dare to say. That’s precisely what makes them so awesome though! There’s been a pervasive lack of guts in what passes for indie and rock music these days. More problematically, there’s absolutely no sense of humor. This New York duo brandish both confidently here. Now, lines like, "my dick takes over" and "we’re too damn sober for mistakes like this" might be more in place on a Drake track than the elegantly architected and often gorgeous soundscape below here. However, that’s why this is such a breath of fresh air. Prelow literally don’t sound like any other group out there, and they boldly tread new territory while being extremely catchy. Make this "mistake" with them, and you won’t regret it. This is hopefully the start of a revolution.
