Singer-songwriter Jonny Rice has shared the breathy, heartfelt new track "Miss Kate" from his Eclectic EP.
He has also revealed the Inspiration behind "Miss Kate," saying: "I have a friend, Kate L., who had been dating a guy for over five years, they talked about marriage and were expecting a future together. Kate later found out that he had been cheating on her and of course was heartbroken. At the time, I was living in Mississippi while she was in Ohio, and wanted to help her but had to think of something that I could do a thousand miles away. So I wrote 'Miss Kate' to cheer her up and she still says she listens to it when she needs a pick me up, and it makes me happy to know my music helps brighten someone’s day. "
What a good friend Jonny Rice is! We totally want our BFF to write a song to help cheer us up after ending up with a broke ass heart. Who does that other than a true gentleman and a good pal?
So next time you have a broken heart, listen to this song and pretend J. Rice wrote it for you!
How much did you live "Miss Kate?"
