We felt compelled to pass this news on in honor of the innocents who were slain last week in a massacre, the thought of which keeps us up at night.
As the nation continues to mourn the innocent lives lost in Newtown, Connecticut last Friday, musicians around the country are organizing to send a message of sympathy and unity.
A circle of jazz musicians includes the father of one of the children lost. They are asking all fellow musicians, in all genres of music, and other performing artists in whatever form, to join them in showing respect for the memory of the victims, and in resolving to do their part to prevent this kind of senseless violence from happening again.
They are asking fellow musicians to observe a moment of silence at every musical performance in the USA on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 10 PM in whatever time zone they are performing.
Please pass this along.
