ARTISTdirect.com has teamed up with alt rock act Beta State to premiere the new song "Start a Clean Slate" from #Friendship, out May 21. You can get the deluxe edition on the band's website.
The track is a balls out rocker, powered by a potent, high-octane riff that blew our hair back and nearly detonated our speakers. Know what that means? It fucking rocks.
"'Start a Clean Slate,' for us, is one of those Beta State songs that almost never came out," drummer Adrian Robison said. "The early demos were definitely different -- almost frustrating to finish in a way. But once the song was finalized, we stepped back and realized that it was one of our favorite to listen to and perform live. Funny how that works. Guess you could say that it was Beta State's 'ugly duckling" that blossomed into a swan.'
And what a swan it is! The hook will embed itself in your brain. It's that catchy. We also love the gang vocal about two-and-a-half minutes in. Yes, that was us you heard, singing along.
So go ahead and "Start a Clean Slate." Enjoy the track, courtesy of your friends at ARTISTdirect and Beta State.
Did you dig Beta State and "Start a Clean State?" We know, that rhymes!
