Get your wings...
Take a listen to Liz Brennan's "Expected to Fly" from her forthcoming album.
Brennan specializes in "demented pop" and that's a very good thing. Her style is like a darker version of '80s stars, like Blondie and Pat Benatar. Although classically trained, Liz was always drawn to the styles of rock and pop, the combination of which gives her new music a full, unique sound.
We love her style and her sound. You will, too.
"'Expected to Fly' was originally based on a Martin Luther King, Jr. quote, 'If you can't run, walk, if you can't walk, crawl.' I thought, 'If you can't crawl, jump!,'" Brennan told us about the track. "The song is about growing up and losing friendships that you're trying to hold on to. It is about holding onto things that make you... you."
Don't let go! Hold on. Don't unfurl those fingers.
