It's a live clip from the siblings' "Dave's Room" session.
Ut oh, we have a raging case of "Vertigo," but that's a very good thing, since it's actually the live version of The Luck's song of the same name, recorded during their "Dave's Room" session!
Who are The Luck? They are a brother/sister duo from London, England, who are now based in Los Angeles. They specialize in super sweet alt pop, with impactful male-female vocal interplay.
Every two weeks, the band will be releasing live videos from their recent "Dave's Room" session.
This week's offering is "Vertigo" via ARTISTdirect!
"This is a very vibrant, uptempo song," the band told us. "It was originally born in L.A., jamming with a friend of ours, on our very first trip to the city. Sitting on the porch of an Airbnb in Laurel Canyon, we were surrounded by the heritage of so many of our musical heroes. Elements of these heroes can be heard in the song. 'Vertigo' is ultimately about pushing yourself to your limits—combating and overcoming your fears. Releasing yourself from your own doubts and rising above them is at the heart of the song."
Overcoming fear is one of the hardest things a person can do in life! Fear can be so, so crippling, whether it's changing jobs, deciding to move to another city or sending a text to the person that has stolen your heart. Therefore, you always need a soundtrack or several songs that help you navigate such a scenario! And guess what? "Vertigo" can be one of those songs. It has that sort of redemptive power!
Also, the song will live on an EP to be released soon!
It's two roomy voices, some urgent acoustic strumming and all awesome.
With all that detail and with a base knowledge of the musical history of Laurel Canyon, spanning from Joni Mitchell to The Mamas and The Papas, in mind, why not come down with a case of "Vertigo," courtesy of The Luck?
