According to a report on Billboard.com, next month's Grammy Awards (the fiftieth annual show, no less) will not be marred by picketing Writer's Guild of America members. A guild spokesman confirmed the decision but said the Recording Academy's application for an interim agreement with two WGA members is still being batted back and forth.
WGA West president Patric Verrone has met with members of the Recording Academy for the past 10 days in talks that emphasized the many reasons why the Grammys shouldn't suffer in the writers' strike. Namely things like the charities that count on Grammy week — something that helped the NAACP Image Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards go on.
Whatever happens with the agreement, Beyoncé and Foo Fighters have both said they will perform at the ceremony.
