Chris Cornell's "The Keeper" Available Now

Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell has contributed the song "The Keeper" to the soundtrack for Machine Gun Preacher.

Machine Gun Preacher stars Gerard Butler and is based on the true story of Sam Childers, a former drug-dealing criminal who finds faith leading him on a path to help the children of East Africa.

"The Keeper" is available here as part of "Donate to Download" campaign for Sam Childers' Angels of East Africa charity for the first 24 hours; the charity is dedicated to the rescue, restoration and enablement of children caught in the crossfire of the Lord's Resistance Army – a rebel military group in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan. On Tuesday, Aug. 30, the song will be available for sale on iTunes®.

The soundtrack will be available both physically at music retail stores and digitally at iTunes® on Tuesday, Sept. 20. On the physical version of the Machine Gun Preacher soundtrack, "The Keeper" will appear in two forms featuring an extended version of the song as it appears in the film. On the iTunes® version of the soundtrack, the original demo of "The Keeper" will be featured as a bonus track.
