Gucci wrote the book with Neil Martinez-Belkin. He began working on the member while serving out his prison sentence that came to an end last year. The 288-page book will follow Gucci's life, from Alabama poverty into the drug world and to the heights of Atlanta rap stardom.
The book is due for release September 19th via Simon & Schuster. The publisher's website says of the memoir, "the legend takes us to his roots in Alabama, the streets of East Atlanta, the trap house, and the studio where he found his voice as a peerless rapper. He reflects on his inimitable career and in the process confronts his dark past — years behind bars, the murder charge, drug addiction, career highs and lows — the making of a trap god. It is one of the greatest comeback stories in the history of music."
Last year, Gucci was the busiest man in the rap game, dropping two studios albums, two compilation albums, three mixtapes, and three EPs. This year he has already dropped the 3 For Free EP and he is set to unveil Drop Top Wop sometime later this year. It seems like music's busiest man has no desire to rest anytime soon.
