Lady Gaga, Guns N' Roses, & Justin Timberlake Confirmed For Rock In Rio 2017

In years past, the festival has been known to draw over million people through its gates, and with this year's lineup — which spans genres represented by leaders from the world of music, it might very well be a landmark year. The event first occurred back in 1985 in Rio, and has since seen iterations around the globe. Madrid, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; and Las Vegas, Nevada have all played host to the mammoth concert in recent years.

However, this year Rock in Rio 2017 is back in its hometown of Rio de Janeiro for the first time since 2015 — last year's festival occurred in Lisbon. Other notable acts include Aerosmith, Nile Rodgers with Chic, Alice Cooper, Billy Idol, The Offspring, and Cee-Lo Green, and several more acts are still to be announced. The festival will begin September 15th and go till September 24th.

Tickets for Rock in Rio will go on sale April 6th, and can be purchased on the official website. 2017 looks to be another landmark year for Rio de Janeiro, which just hosted the Olympics last summer — a city with a reputation for loving to party.
