The Pine Hollows are playing New York City on March 30 at Piano's upstairs.

But the back-and-forth debates of twins Gianni and Mariela Napolitano are usually about guitar arrangements and rock vocals. How cool are these sibs? Cooler than you, that's for sure.But The Pine Hollows are used to spinning the traditional with their own personality. There is no greater evidence of this than their self-titled LP, a modern project that feels crafted by the hands of rock gods. The sibling duo, along with Ray Belli and Will Sawlen, are driven by sophisticated, energetic guitar riffs, with steady drumlines and bass walks as a reliable engine. The flashback vocals are put in a present-day context by melodies that you'll find yourself singing along to before you even know the lyrics.
"Every era of music is made iconic by certain elements" said Gianni Napolitano. "Combining the personalities of many music decades and updating them with today's music is the core of our own musical identity."
The influence of rock legends is direct, having performed alongside Ace Frehley (Kiss), Steven Adler (Guns N' Roses), and Mike Starr (Alice in Chains). The group also both opened for and performed with The Butthole Surfers on their 2008 European Tour.
