In case you did not get a true whiff of the new Kanye West song "Power" when he opened the BET Awards last month, you've got to peep it!
Turn it up, really loud, for full appreciation. It demonstrates why West is considered one of the greats and he is at the top of his game here. Not The Game, but his game.
The track boasts a thunderous beat and West rapping about people kissing his ass and his asshole. It certainly is not a frothy track; it has bark and bite and it is right up there with some of his best work. I particularly love the background, chorus-type vocals and that West is spewing venom for much of the track. It still sounds like Kanye, only he is slightly reinvented. I cannot wait to hear the rest of the album if it follows along these lines.
This song is another example of why Kanye West fucking rules…you can trust a white Italian girl from New Jersey when it comes to rap…
