Rapper Lil' Wayne is being paid to keep a watchful eye over fellow inmates on suicide detail, as well as blogging for his site, WeezyThanxYou.com. Clearly, he is not bored and listless while he is in the slammer, serving time for gun charges. He's being productive and we commend Weezy for that.
The rapper recently posted a sports-themed blog, titled, "TSC: McNabb To the Skins…Wow." The post focuses on said trade as well as the upcoming NFL draft and the conclusion of March Madness. Weezy has a future career in sports commentary should he decide to hang up his mic! Given that he has a tattoo of the ESPN logo on his person, we think that the folks at the network should start pursuing Weezy now.
"I think this will be a great thing for all involved," Weezy wrote of the Philadelphia Eagles trading its franchise quarterback of the past 11 seasons, Donovan McNabb, to inter-division rival Washington Redskins. "Except the Eagles. One reason is because I don't think Andy Reid was ready to part ways with the soon-to-be-34-year-old veteran. He still had a year left on paper with the Eagles, And though I don't think they would've given him an extension, for some reason I think Andy would've liked to see Donovan play it out… I don't think he was the brains behind that move. I think this was above him." As a lifelong Eagles fan, I'd like to offer some input here, Weez. It was time for #5 to go. We had six changes to get to the Super Bowl and we only made it there once. While I thank Donovan McNabb for his decade-plus service to the Eagles, I wish him the best in his new home down in DC. And I agree that Reid, who drafted McNabb, wasn't the one pushing for this move. But his bosses pay his salary and that's who he is beholden to! Weezy also said, "I'm calling this the craziest QB trade since Brett to the Vikings." That technically wasn't a trade, but... we get Weezy's point on the magnitude of the transaction!
Do you agree with Weezy's assessment of the Eagles/Skins trade? What other ways can Lil' Wayne be productive while incarcerated?
