There will be no Young Money collab between Lil Wayne and Drake, as the previously planned joint album has been ditched altogether.
Drake told XXLMag.com that the decision to scrap the Weezy + Drizzy project was influenced by Kanye West and Jay-Z's Watch the Throne offering, but in a positive way! Drizzy explained, "Me and Wayne scrapped the idea of a collaboration album. We just agreed that it would be looked upon as… it would be sort of this competition [with Watch the Throne]. It would get caught in this whirlwind of hype. [Wayne] agreed. We just said, 'If we do it, we'll do it down the line. But right now is not the time.'"
Makes sense. They don't need or want to be compared to Yeezy and the Hova, and they should it when it's right and when it fits.
Would you like to hear a full album collab between Lil Wayne and Drake, regardless?
