DEA agents in Yuma, AZ, arrested Lil Wayne and two unnamed members of his entourage on Tuesday night around 11:30 p.m. The trio's tour bus was pulled over by border patrol officers on Interstate 8, which is widely known as a route for the trafficking of drugs and illegal aliens. A search of the bus uncovered three legally registered guns (one of which was Wayne's), 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy, and various forms of drug paraphernalia.
At the moment, Wayne is being charged with possession of cocaine, ecstasy and drug paraphernalia as all three were found in a bag of his. His cohorts were charged with the marijuana possession. Wayne was released at 1:20 p.m. today after being brought to Yuma City County Jail around 6:30 a.m. and posting $10,000 bail at the Walton Justice Court, according to CBS 5 in Phoenix.
"We will find out by January 25 whether or not the [Yuma] county attorney will file charges or not," Wayne's lawyer, James Tilson, told the CBS station. "He is looking forward to his day in court. That's all I can say right now."
Wayne was last arrested in July of 2007 for gun possession charges—just hours after his first major New York gig—and three months later on a felony fugitive charge in Boise, ID. Accoding to MTV.com, Wayne's lawyer blamed the latter on a paperwork mix-up.
