A real rock star never repeats himself.
Lil Wayne deserves that tag more than most of the cats out there in "bands". From Tha Carter IV to I Am Not a Human Being, Weezy is the consummate artist, constantly evolving, shifting, and pulling the rug out from under the collective Zeitgeist without any apologies or "worries". That brings us to "No Worries" [iTunes link], his brand new single featuring Detail. From Dedication 4 and set for his forthcoming I Am Not a Human Being II, "No Worries" is an instant classic. It's also purely next level not only for Wayne, but for hip hop.
A wild, galactic beat reverberates, while synths seesaw like a skateboard in a half-pipe. Wayne sounds as unfettered as ever announcing, "It's okay if you turn up, just don't turn off my light years" and "I smoke more than a magic show". Whether he's shouting out Donkey Kong or explaining why he has "No Worries", his wordplay remains unparalleled and utterly impressive. Detail flawlessly croons the hook like he's singing from a spaceship matching in tandem with Wayne's undeniable rhyme prowess. This is one of the most exciting hip hop songs of the decade and another chapter for Wayne. Take a close listen. The song deserves it like all of his bast fare.
People complain about hip hop and music in general. However, we have nothing to worry about, there's still a legend out there running the game. He's only getting better too.
Wayne's going to be in the rock 'n' roll hall of fame someday, but he'll be way past what that means by then even…
