We certainly didn't expect this to happen… Lil Wayne has just dropped a new EP via his Soundcloud account. It's called In Tune We Trust and features Jeezy, Jay Jones, Hoody Baby, and Euro. Wayne made the announcement about the new album via his Instagram, saying, "Im STILL trying to fight for my Independence but today Im saying F*** it and giving all my fans some new music! Thanks for being there and patiently waiting while I endure this fight."

Over the last several years, Lil Wayne has been in a battle with Birdman and Cash Money Records over the release of Carter V. Last year, Weezy teamed up with 2 Chainz for a collaborative project called ColleGrove, which was released under Chainz's name due to Wayne's ongoing legal struggles. He also released a collaborative project this year with T-Pain titled T-Wayne.

In Tune We Trust is a welcome surprise from the rapper. Weezy's last released solo material back in 2015 with the LP Free Weezy Album and mixtape No Ceilings 2.

Today is a great day for the fans of Lil Wayne and for music fans all around, as another of the great voices in hip hop has thrown their hat back in the ring.
