Peter Gabriel debuted his second song of the year, "The Veil". The release of the new Preoccupations album - and the first under their new name - is right around the corner, and this week they shared "Memory". D.A.R.K. delivered "High Fashion", and we caught up with the band to discuss their new album Science Agrees. The Strokes' Nick Valensi premiered "Ways To Fake It" a new track from his side project CRX. And that was only the beginning for a week filled with stunning new tunes.
Here are our favorites:
Zack de la Rocha - "Digging for Windows"
It's been 10 years since anyone has seen new solo material from former Rage Against the Machine singer Zack de la Rocha. The wait, however, is finally over as Zack teamed up with El-P and unleashed the battering "Digging for Windows".
The Pretenders - "Holy Commotion"
Earlier this week, Pretenders announced that they will be releasing their first record since 2008. It may have been awhile since we've heard from Chrissie Hynde, but "Holy Commotion" proves she hasn't lost a step.
Mac Miller - "My Favorite Part" [ft. Ariana Grande]
Earlier this year, we got to hear Mac Miller team up with Anderson .Paak on the outstanding track "Dang!". It seems like collaborations are working well for Miller as he dropped another stunner this week, "My Favorite Part", this time teaming up with Ariana Grande.
Butch B****** - "Magnolia"
Butch B****** got Father John Misty to play the drums for him and the rest is history. "Magnolia" has a classic feel, but sounds as if it'll never grow old.
Pional - "The Way You Like" ft. Empress Of
Spanish producer Pional will be dropping his new album When Love Hurts later this month. This week he unveiled the record's first single "The Way You Like" where he has teamed up with Empress Of to create an intricate, yet flowing track that almost floats through the airwaves.
