Singer/Genesis member Phil Collins unloaded a huge amount of items from his personal collection of Alamo memorabilia to the historic Texas mission. He was believed to have the biggest Alamo artifacts collection there is... but he gave it away since he felt it was better served in a museum capacity instead of something only he was able to enjoy by hoarding it.
As a thank you to the English singer, Texas is naming its $100 million Alamo museum after Collins.
He will also be named an honorary Texan, to (cowboy) boot!
So an Englishman is becoming a Texan. Now that's something you don't hear every day! #Global.
Wow! So Phil Collins is now a Texan and has a museum named after him. What a good year for Collins, Phil.
What is your fave period of American history?
