Il Divo is an international classical crossover vocal group known for blending operatic technique with pop music. Formed in 2003 by music producer Simon Cowell, the group originally consisted of Urs Bühler (Switzerland), Carlos Marín (Spain), David Miller (United States), and Sébastien Izambard (France). Their music combines classical singing styles with contemporary arrangements, often performed in multiple languages including English, Italian, Spanish, and French.

Il Divo gained global success with their self-titled debut album “Il Divo” (2004), followed by “Ancora” (2005), both of which achieved strong international sales. Their repertoire includes operatic interpretations of popular songs, romantic ballads, and traditional pieces, characterized by rich harmonies and dramatic vocal delivery. Their sound helped popularize the classical crossover genre for a mainstream audience.

Throughout their career, Il Divo has released numerous successful albums and toured extensively worldwide, performing in prestigious venues and attracting a broad, international fanbase. Their performances emphasize elegance, vocal precision, and emotional expression, often accompanied by orchestral arrangements.

The group experienced a significant loss with the passing of Carlos Marín in 2021, after which they continued performing with adjustments to their lineup while honoring his legacy. Despite this change, their music and identity have remained rooted in the classical crossover tradition.

Today, Il Divo is recognized as one of the most successful acts in classical crossover music. Their ability to bridge classical and popular styles has brought operatic vocals to a wide audience, and their enduring appeal continues to resonate with fans around the world.
