Boosie Badazz (formerly known as Lil’ Boosie) is an American rapper known for his raw, autobiographical style and significant influence in Southern hip-hop. Born Torrence Ivy Hatch Jr. on November 14, 1982, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he became a prominent voice in the Southern rap scene through his gritty storytelling and emotional honesty.

Lil’ Boosie began gaining attention in the late 1990s as part of the group Concentration Camp before launching a solo career that would define his legacy. His early work reflected the realities of street life, poverty, and personal struggle, resonating with a wide audience.

He achieved major recognition with albums such as Bad Azz and Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz, which featured standout tracks that showcased his distinctive voice and storytelling ability.
