Deep Purple released the single “Guilt Trippin’” on June 23, 2026, as the third promotional track for the band’s upcoming 24th studio album, SPLAT!. The single is available on all major streaming platforms and was accompanied by an official music video on YouTube. SPLAT! is scheduled for release on July 3, 2026, through the label earMUSIC.

SPLAT! is the band’s sixth collaboration with producer Bob Ezrin, who has worked on every Deep Purple album since 2013’s Now What?. The album’s concept, developed by vocalist Ian Gillan, explores the end of humanity as a transformation rather than a destruction. The track list, presented in four sides, includes “Arrogant Boy,” “Diablo,” “The Rider,” “The Lunatic,” “The Only Horse In Town,” “Sacred Land,” “The Beating Of Wings,” “Guilt Trippin’,” “Scriblin’ Gib’rish,” “Jessica’s Bra,” “Third Call,” “My New Movie,” and the title track “Splat!”.

The single’s video features surreal imagery, including a fly and a sycamore‑seed spaceship traveling through a dreamlike landscape. The lyrics tell a story in which God and Charles Darwin share a drink in a pub, reflecting on how earthly events have deviated from a planned course. Vocalist Ian Gillan delivers a powerful performance that critics have described as one of his most memorable on the album.

The band is currently touring Europe in the summer before the SPLAT! World Tour moves to North America. Tickets for the European dates are sold through Deep Purple’s official website. Pre‑orders for SPLAT! began on May 6, 2026, and include multiple formats: a limited box set with a 2‑LP gatefold, a CD digisleeve, and several vinyl editions. Exclusive items such as a limited canvas signed by all members, a 10‑inch live recording set, and a 7‑inch single featuring the bonus track “GUINNESIS” are available only in the box set.

Early reviews of SPLAT! have highlighted the album’s hard‑rock energy. Uncut called it “distilled, high‑octane Purple at its finest,” while Classic Rock praised it for delivering “everything that makes Deep Purple one of the greatest acts in hard rock.” The album is described by the band as the heaviest they have released in many years.

Deep Purple, formed in London in 1968, has sold more than 120 million albums worldwide and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016. The current lineup—Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Don Airey, and guitarist Simon McBride—has been touring extensively in 2026, performing 86 shows across 28 countries.

With the release of “Guilt Trippin’” and the forthcoming album, Deep Purple continues to add to its legacy as a defining force in hard rock, offering new material that blends traditional elements with contemporary concepts.
