L.A.B to Headline 8TH Wonders Inaugural Brisbane Festival on January 30, 2027
The one‑day festival, a follow‑up to a Rotorua launch on January 23, 2027, was created by L.A.B and entertainment company Loop. 8TH Wonder is billed as a roots‑music and Pacific‑culture celebration, drawing reggae, soul, dub, R&B and contemporary Indigenous sounds.
Beyond L.A.B, the Brisbane bill features Te Wehi, Sir Dave Dobbyn, South Summit, Aaradhna, Che Fu & The Kratez, Ladi6, Corrella, The Elovaters and Son & Water. All‑ages admission is offered, with children under five free when accompanied by a paying adult.
L.A.B not only headline but also serve as foundation partners. The group’s platinum‑selling albums and sold‑out Australasian tours underscore their standing in the region. Joel Shadbolt of L.A.B said the band is “really excited to be a part of 8TH WONDER” and highlighted the festival’s family focus.
Loop’s Michael Tucker explained that 8TH Wonder was conceived as an artist‑led festival: “We wanted to create the kind of event we’d love to go to ourselves, incredible music, room to breathe, artists you can actually get close to, and a day that feels welcoming for everyone.”
The lineup also marks key milestones. Sir Dave Dobbyn returns to Australia for his first tour stop in over eight years. Te Wehi, the 2026 New Zealand Music Awards Breakthrough Artist, follows a series of sold‑out tours in both New Zealand and Australia. Perth‑based Indigenous group South Summit will perform after the release of their album Run It Back, chosen as a triple j Feature Album.
Eatons Hill Outdoors, the former Eatons Hill Golf Course north of Brisbane, recently expanded and earned the title Queensland’s Best Entertainment Venue. The site has hosted international acts such as Prince and Post Malone.
Tickets are available in general admission and a limited VIP tier. Early‑bird general admission starts at $127.50, rising to $147.50 at first release, while VIP seats are priced at $287.50. Early‑bird tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, via 8thwonder.live.
8TH Wonder is a joint venture between Loop and the Comiskey Group, a Queensland‑based entertainment, hospitality and construction company with more than twenty years of live‑event experience across Australasia. The festival continues Loop’s legacy of early‑2000s compilations that introduced Pacific artists to wider audiences.
The Rotorua event will run on Saturday, January 23, 2027, at Village Green, while the Brisbane show follows a week later. Both festivals will feature food trucks, bars and stalls, maintaining their all‑ages, family‑friendly ethos.
The inaugural 8TH Wonder festivals aim to showcase Pacific music and culture’s diversity while providing a welcoming environment for audiences in New Zealand and Australia.
