The Avalanches Release Far Away Featuring John Glacier and Khadija Al Hanafi Ahead of No Bad Memories Album
The Australian electronic trio The Avalanches has dropped a new single, “Far Away,” featuring London‑based rapper John Glacier and Tunisian producer Khadija Al Hanafi. The track is the fifth preview of the group’s forthcoming fourth studio album, No Bad Memories, slated for release on 16 October 2026 through Modular Recordings.
Recorded in a summer session in London with Glacier, the song is described by the band as a “blissed out lysergic feeling” that unites evening light, music and friendship. A music video accompanies the single; it was shot in Tokyo and Minakami, Japan, in December 2025 with a 2001 Sony Handycam and MiniDV PAL tape—a format largely abandoned in the digital age. The footage captures a pre‑production road trip and studio sessions, offering a rare look at the trio’s creative process.
No Bad Memories is notable for its expansive roster of collaborators.
