Father John Misty is the stage name of Josh Tillman, an American singer, songwriter, and musician known for his blend of indie folk, rock, and orchestral pop, as well as his witty, often satirical lyricism. Born in Rockville, Maryland, in 1981, he first gained recognition as a member of the band Fleet Foxes before launching his solo career under the Father John Misty moniker.
