Y&T are an American hard rock band known for their powerful guitar-driven sound and influence on the development of heavy metal and arena rock. Formed in Oakland, California, in 1974 under the original name Yesterday & Today, the band is led by vocalist and guitarist Dave Meniketti.

Y&T gained recognition in the late 1970s and early 1980s with albums such as Earthshaker and Black Tiger, which showcased their blend of melodic hooks and hard-hitting riffs.

They achieved their greatest commercial success with Mean Streak and In Rock We Trust, featuring songs that became staples of 1980s rock radio. Their music bridged the gap between classic hard rock and the emerging glam metal scene.
