ContentLens Names Hari Nair as Pro-Bono Strategic Advisor to Strengthen AI-Driven IP Protection
ContentLens builds proprietary technology that protects music and visual content through fingerprinting, watermarking and audio‑visual content intelligence. The company has filed patents covering these core capabilities and has already commercialised its solutions with five large media and entertainment customers worldwide. Its product suite also includes celebrity likeness detection and deep‑fake identification, positioning the firm at the intersection of intellectual‑property (IP) protection and emerging AI threats.
Hari Nair’s career spans more than three decades across India’s music and digital‑media landscape. He has held senior roles at Tips Music Limited, Sony Music India, PPL India and ByteDance’s TikTok, where he led the global launch of TikTok Music (formerly Resso). As CEO of Tips Music, Nair oversaw partnerships with TikTok, Sony Music Publishing and Warner Music Group, and guided the company to sustained shareholder returns. Music industry figure Kumar Taurani, chairman and managing director of Tips Music, praised Nair for driving revenues and meeting shareholder targets.
The decision for Nair to serve in a pro‑bono capacity is notable because advisory roles in the entertainment sector typically involve equity or paid arrangements. According to ContentLens, Nair’s choice reflects a “deliberate signal of conviction.” He has previously been a client of the platform and has tested its capabilities firsthand.
In his new role, Nair will advise on ContentLens’s go‑to‑market strategy across India and globally, support investor relations, and leverage his extensive network within leading music, media and entertainment companies. His experience in dealmaking, performance‑driven leadership and content monetisation is expected to help the company navigate a rapidly evolving IP landscape.
Founder and CEO Rohan Sahu said, “When someone of Hari’s standing chooses to back ContentLens — not for a fee, but out of genuine belief in what we are building — it is among the strongest forms of validation a company at our stage can receive.” Nair added, “I have spent my career building value across the music and entertainment ecosystem, and I can see clearly that the next frontier of that value lies in AI‑driven content protection. ContentLens is solving a problem that every label, artist and media company faces: IP infringement in an age where content can be replicated, repurposed and monetised without consent.”
The appointment comes as the industry grapples with rising incidents of copyright infringement, deep‑fake content and the need for robust provenance tools. ContentLens’s technology, which can detect and protect original material, is positioned to address these challenges. The company’s expansion into new markets and its patent portfolio suggest it is preparing for a next phase of commercial growth.
At present, ContentLens operates with five major media customers and continues to develop its AI‑based IP protection suite. Hari Nair’s advisory role is intended to accelerate the company’s market reach and strengthen its relationships with investors and industry partners. The partnership signals a growing recognition of AI‑driven solutions as essential tools for safeguarding creative assets in the global entertainment economy.
