Dreamwell to Release Hymns For The Denial Of God on August 28 Through Prosthetic Records
Prosthetic Records, the heavy‑metal label that was acquired by MNRK Music Group in June 2025, will handle distribution. The album’s production unfolded at Silver Bullet Studios in Burlington, Connecticut, where producer Chris Teti oversaw recording and mixing.
According to vocalist Keziah “KZ” Staska, the project turns its focus to the darker side of organized religion. “We’re moving away from the inward‑focused material of our earlier releases and interrogating how organized religion can be misused to justify violence, genocide, and hatred,” she said. Staska clarified that the album is not a purely atheistic statement; instead it questions the use of God to validate evil.
The lead single, “Plath Vs. Kafka Vs. Romance,” premiered alongside a music video directed by Anthony Altamura, former bassist and vocalist of Stray From The Path. The track is available for streaming and download on major platforms, and the video has been shared across the band’s social media channels.
In a statement about the record, Staska said the title “embodies the theme.” She added that the album is not “extremely introspective” and that she wanted to avoid the heavy‑music narrative that equates belief in God with stupidity. Staska emphasized that believing in God is not wrong, but the mainstream political narrative surrounding God is not the one the band wishes to endorse. She also noted that the band aimed to return to a “mosh‑y early two‑thousands style” that had been set aside.
The album’s track list contains ten songs: 1. Hypercrucifixation 2. Sissy Hate Machine 3. Anti‑Christ’s Testimony 4. A Crisis Of Realization 5. Apostates & Gentiles 6. Plath Vs. Kafka Vs. Romance 7. I Dreamt I Survived An Extinction Event 8. Carrion Birds On The Ark 9. Your Ichthys Decal Won’t Get You Into Heaven Anymore 10. Cherub Rock Of Gibraltar
The titles and overall tone suggest a continuation of Dreamwell’s exploration of religious and philosophical themes, while incorporating heavier, more aggressive musical elements. The band’s decision to work with Teti at Silver Bullet Studios follows a pattern of collaborating with producers who can capture the group’s intense sound.
Prosthetic Records, known for early releases by Lamb of God and Gojira, has positioned Hymns For The Denial Of God as the next step in Dreamwell’s engagement with the heavy‑music community. According to the label’s announcement, the album will be available for streaming and purchase on August 28, with pre‑orders and digital downloads opening at the same time.
The release marks a significant moment for Dreamwell, expanding the band’s thematic scope and returning to a heavier musical style. With its focus on the negative aspects of organized religion and its aggressive sound, the album is poised to become a noteworthy addition to the 2026 heavy‑metal catalog.
